Description
One of our favorites is the Double XX from Maxxon Outfitters. We like using the 9’6 weight for smallmouth, streamers and big trout. This rod has a fighting butt and is also ideal for fishing windy lakes. The 7 and 8 weights are ideal for steelhead, lake run browns, salmon and are ideal for tossing bass bugs in lakes. While 8/9 weights are great for Great Lakes salmon runs or blitzing stripers on the beach.
The trout sizes of 8’6” 4 wt, 9’5 are great all around rods whether throwing buggers, nymphing or tossing dries at rising fish. The 10’ 5 weight is also an ideal rod for Delaware River Trout. Long Pools, large distances and drag are all reduced allowing you to pick off finicky trout with small flies.
A rod that literally has it all! Smooth casting with superb action, this rod series enables you to present flies with a delicate touch. The Double XX rod has all the exceptional elements one would expect to find on a high-end, saltwater rod, without the inflated price tag. Beautifully machined aluminum reel seat, discrete dual up-locking rings and matching hard anodized, smoke gray snake guides make this rod look almost as good as it performs!
Complete with a segmented rod sleeve and durable Cordura nylon travel tube, the Double XX rod is hard to beat!
