The Demon Smuggler is a 6-piece fly rod and one of the prettiest rods we’ve ever carried. The Smuggler has a gray blank with a pearl over coat, giving it a cool grey ghost color. Call this the Grey Ghost Hardy Rod. Really cool.
The Smuggler’s rod tube is incredibly small and packable. This is rod is ideal for backpacking trips or as a carry-on. The rod tube will fit in most of the carry on rollie type bags. The Demon has an aluminum double uplocking reel seat with a reversed half wells cork grip.The Demon Smuggler is well-constructed, has alignment dots, and is finished with high quality hardware and single foot guides and contribute to the rod’s lightweight makeup.
The Demon Smuggler is a rod with a medium-fast action. This rod is made using the Hardy Sintrix Technology with a 3M nano resin to make this rod more powerful, lighter, and more caster-friendly than any other 6-piece fly rod. The entire Demon Smuggler rod weighs 3.4 ounces. That’s insanely light for a 6-piece fly rod with two extra joints.
