Green Humpies are ideal for imitating deer flies. I started fishing green dry flies several years ago after fishing in a pasture with a spring creek in SE MN. I was getting dive bombed by deer flies and I swatted a few that fell into the stream. Trout started gulping the deer flies. I used these flies to imitate deer flies and had outstanding success. Great for summer beetle patterns as well. These are dandy for panfish too.
